a hiker crests a ridge, skis on his back, on a snowy afternoon at bridger bowl

7 March 09 | Hiking the Fingers at Bridger Bowl

Until this year, with the opening of the Schlashman’s chair lift, the only way to ski the Fingers, a series of chutes off of a nob on the south side of Bridger Bowl, was by hiking up from the top of the Pierre’s Knob chair lift. Now there’s access from the ridge, but as with yesterday, the new chair doesn’t always run. So we hike.
