newspaper dispensers in downtown chicago on the corner of wacker and madison

Chicago Newspaper Dispensers

Posted on | Shot on at 18:00:00

Chicago was a lot of fun to shoot with a telephoto lens. Unlike the Pacific Northwest where is hillier and you can see your way out of the city, Chicago just kept going. Even from the top of the Sears Tower it was city and water as far as you could see with nothing but towers to break the monotony of the flat. This wasn’t my most compressed shot by any means — it’s all of a half a block — but it’s got a bit of the street activity going on.

  • Interesting composition and the variety of colors make this such a cool image

  • this one is a feast for my eyes. love that light on the far wall and newspaper boxes are a huge favorite for me. you’ve got a very interesting dark/light mix going on in this. it’s the kind of light situation i’ve been struggling with lately but you really make it work.
