Seattle Bike Messenger

I always wanted to be a bike messenger. Probably be a lot of work. I took the photo of this guy in downtown Seattle somewhere between the Space Needle and Convention Center.

  • Nice one, but maybe centering the subject is not the best composition. It would be stronger, if this biker was on the left side.

  • i think in a city that’s bike friendly, it’s okay.. i planned on getting a road bike, but boy, those sure are expensive.. :) nice job freezing him.. :)

  • i wanted to be one too once! i even talked to a guy about it. he said it was a great job but he had to eat pizza non-stop to keep from getting too thin. he even took a week off work just to just to focus on balancing his calorie intake/output. you don’t see many of these guys in Vancouver anymore. sorry got sidetracked from commenting on the photo. i think you’ve got a tough lighting situation going on here more than a composition issue. and i think it might be the lighting that’s making this image feel a bit static. i like that the arrows and the messenger are all going in the same direction though.

  • I agree, he’s very static with his arm locked, just coasting waiting for a car or something
