Chicago skyline including the John Hancock Building and Trump Tower

John Hancock Building and Trump Tower

Posted on | Shot on at 18:00:00

The Chicago skyline looking south west from the Sears Tower Skydeck on a cold, partially overcast autumn day.

I discovered presets in Lightroom recently and have been going through photos in a manner akin to when I first discovered Photoshop years ago. I’ve found a number of traditional film looks that I’ve been matching up with appropriate photos and just can’t go back to the originals after I’ve done so.

  • can see why you wouldn’t go back. this is really nice. especially the patterns in the sky and water. you had something good to work with with your original image.

  • wow, this looks like a very tall building.. very good vantage point.. :) great shot.. :)

  • compressing the scene with a long focal length really helps a lot.. this is a nice street scene (which i miss a lot).. nice work with the toning & vignetting too..
