Man in a black coat walks down a sun-drenched street in the Vancouver Heights neighborhood on a stormy afternoon.

Storm Lighting

Posted on | Shot on at 17:00:00

A man walking through a neighborhood of condos on the west end of downtown Vancouver in between rain/snow storms on a winter afternoon. I love storm lighting—that heavily accented light, filtered through narrow gaps of cloud against a dark sky. Vancouver was well suited for it too, the moss that seemed to be everywhere got increasingly saturated with the odd lighting, adding color to many otherwise bland objects (like the wall here).

  • the odd contrast in saturation is also what caught my eye here.. nice shot.. :)

  • i’m totally biased of course – but Vancouver storm light is the best. i like the figure here and what looks like the bay in the distance.

  • @michele i think it is yes, you’re up on a top of a hill here, kind of like in seattle
